Welcome to The Phoenix Team!
7th Grade  ~  Dartmouth Middle School

Dear Phoenix Families ~

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! You have much to look forward to as a new member of our phenomenal Phoenix Team. Your team of teachers works together and shares the responsibility for teaching the curriculum in language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. All of us are thrilled that you have joined the Phoenix team, and we will work hard to create a powerful, positive, and productive learning year. Parents will have an opportunity to meet each of us and learn more about seventh grade curriculum, procedures, and policies during Back to School Night on Thursday, August 24 at 6PM.

To ensure that your child and others receive the best possible education this year, all seventh grade teachers have agreed on specific behavioral expectations. Please also review all guidelines in the Dartmouth Student Planner as these rules and procedures apply to all students, and there are many policy updates for the 2023-24 school year.

Your child was given a detailed list of supplies that would be ideal to assist your student this year. Students will use all of these supplies at some point throughout the year; and, therefore, it’s ideal for each student to have them. If gathering these supplies is a financial hardship, please contact us.

On a daily basis, it’s most helpful that students bring at least the following materials:
  1. Sharpened pencils, a sharpener, blue or black pens, and a red pen
  2. Some system to keep papers organized. We suggest one team binder (1-2 inches) OR an expandable file with dividers OR a folder for each class.
  3. Set of colored pencils (12-pack, sharpened)
  4. 2x College-ruled spiral 9x12 notebook able to fit a 8.5x11 inch sheet of paper (for history and science)
If you would like to contribute any extra supplies, the following would be greatly appreciated: tissues, hand sanitizer, college-ruled paper, white copy paper, colored copy paper, pencils, red pens, low odor Expo markers, colored pencils, Sharpies, and glue sticks.

With passionate and diligent teachers, hard-working and tenacious students, and actively involved and supportive parents, the year ahead is sure to be a success!
