Overview

As the Explorer Team’s World History teacher, I am looking forward to a wonderful year with the Explorer Team’s students.  I love teaching at Dartmouth Middle School, and am enthusiastic about the various World History projects that I have scheduled for my students to work on during this year.

Here at Dartmouth, we use 2 different books the Glencoe California Series textbook entitled Medieval and Early Modern Times. (RED BOOK) I also use the TCI consumable that I refer to as our “workbook.”  The second book is History Alive! The Medieval World and Beyond. (GREEN BOOK) The California Department of Education has developed content standards for 7th grade World History that will cover all chapters in our textbook.  All books will be at school for use but no books will be checked out to keep at home.

One goal that I have for this year is helping my students learn how to be successful in school.  That means bringing the tools they need to each and every class daily.  I expect them to have their workbook, and other supplies, like pencils and paper, with them each day. They should also bring their planner to class to keep track of their assignments,

I will post all of my homework assignments for the week each Monday, and will update Power School grades every other Friday.  Regular and long term assignments, along with their due date, will be posted on the homework page to assist both parents and students keep track of assignments and grades.

I am looking forward to sharing my classroom with the incoming, amazing students of the Explorer Team that will have a passion to learn about the history of our world.
