PBIS at Dartmouth Middle School

PBIS, or Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, is a program used in many  schools to create a positive and supportive learning environment. Here's a quick rundown:

• Focuses on teaching good behavior: Instead of just punishing bad behavior, PBIS teaches students what good behavior looks like in different situations (halls, classrooms, etc.).

• Rewards positive choices: Students are acknowledged and rewarded for following the expectations. This could be praise, tickets for prizes, or other incentives.

• Creates a positive school culture: By focusing on the positive, PBIS helps middle schoolers feel good about being at school and motivated to behave well.

• Involves everyone: Teachers, administrators, students, and even parents all work together to make PBIS successful.

Overall, PBIS helps middle school students develop good social-emotional skills and creates a more positive learning environment for everyone.
